The babies have done extremely well over their first few weeks, thanks to God and the prayers of everyone near and far who have been seeking God on behalf of Ethan and Emmanuel. Their biggest issue to date was their PDA being open which is very common in babies born this early. They both had a surgery to fix the issue and the twins have recovered well. Ethan now weighs 1 lb 7 oz and Emmanuel 1 lb 10 oz which is great! During their first few weeks they lost some weight but they are now on the gaining path. They are both on ventilators to help them breate, if they were in the womb they wouldn't have to breathe so it takes a lot of energy for them to take breaths. My boys are strong though and they are doing great for their gestational age. The most important thing for them right now is to sleep as much as possible, deep sleep helps them to grow and the more sleep they get the less chance of infection and illness. The boys are starting to look more and more alike day by day... they are identical so within the next couple of weeks they should look identical.
